The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 was passed by the Parliament of India on 11 December 2019. It amended the Citizenship Act, 1955 by providing a path to Indian citizenship for illegal migrants of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian religious minorities, who had fled persecution from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

▶️ RERA Act

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 is an Act of the Parliament of India which seeks to protect home-buyers as well as help boost investments in the real estate industry.

▶️ Ram Mandir Construction

Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is a Hindu temple that is being built at the sacred pilgrimage site of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya of Uttar Pradesh, India. Ram Janmabhoomi is the birthplace of Lord Ram.

▶️ 3 Crore Homes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 launched one of the world's largest group housing projects for the poor, which will provide 3 crore housing units to Indian citizens living below poverty line. The houses are expected to be delivered in 2022.

Triple talaq, also known as talaq-e-biddat, instant divorce and talaq-e-mughallazah (irrevocable divorce), was a form of Islamic divorce which has been used by Muslims in India. On 22 August 2017, the Indian Supreme Court deemed instant triple talaq (talaq-e-biddah) unconstitutional.

▶️ Low Inflation Rate

Inflation rate in India was 5.5% as of May 2019, as per the Indian Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. This represents a modest reduction from the previous annual figure of 9.6% for June 2011. Inflation rates in India are usually quoted as changes in the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), for all commodities.

▶️ 15 new AIIMS

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous government public medical colleges of higher education. Apart from AIIMS Delhi,22 more institutes were announced. As of January 2020, fifteen institutes are operating and eight more are expected to become operational until 2025.

The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 is an act of the Parliament of India with the objective to provide for protection of rights of transgender people, their welfare, and other related matters.

Road-building has gone up significantly under the Modi-led government.
In 2017-18, the current BJP government built a total of 9,829km of highway - more than double the 2013-14 figure.

▶️ Motor Vehicles Act

The Motor Vehicle Act 2019 is an amendment to the Motor Vehicle Act 1988. As per the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019, the penalty for general offences has been increased from Rs 100 earlier to Rs 500 for first offence, and Rs 300 earlier to Rs 1,000 for repeat offence.

An unsung success story of the Narendra Modi government has been a quantum jump in India’s arms exports. As per the data published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, or SIPRI, in March 2020, India is ranked 23rd in the list of major arms exporters for 2015-2019 and 19th for 2019.

▶️ New Education Policy 2020

The Draft NEP discusses reducing curriculum content to enhance essential learning, critical thinking and more holistic experiential, discussion-based and analysis-based learning. It also talks about a revision of the curriculum and pedagogical structure from a 10+2 system to a 5+3+3+4 system design in an effort to optimise learning for students based on cognitive development of children.

▶️ Reduced Corporate Tax

Base corporate tax for existing companies was reduced to 22 per cent from 30 per cent, and to 15 per cent from 25 per cent for new manufacturing firms incorporated after October 1, 2019, and starting operations before March 31, 2023.

▶️ PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is an initiative by the government of India in which all farmers will get up to ₹6,000 (US$84) per year as minimum income support. The initiative was announced by Piyush Goyal during the 2019 Interim Union Budget of India on 1 February 2019.

▶️ Fugitive Economic Offender Act

The Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, 2018 empowers any special court (set up under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002) to confiscate all properties and assets of economic offenders who are charged in offences measuring over INR 100 crores.

▶️ Converting Post Offices Into Banks

In a major boost to the Centre's plans of financial inclusion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the payments bank of the Indian postal department that will take banking to the doorstep of every citizen, particularly in rural areas, through an unmatched network of post offices.

▶️ Clearing 2 Lakh Crore Fuel Debt By Congress

The NDA government repaid over Rs 2 lakh crore, including Rs 70,000 crore interest, which was taken as a loan through oil bonds by the previous Congress government at the Centre.

India has become the fifth-largest economy in 2019, overtaking the United Kingdom and France. The country ranks third when GDP is compared in terms of purchasing power parity at $11.33 trillion.
