West Bengal Congress took out a rally in Kolkata on Saturday in support of actress Rhea Chakraborty arrested on charges of drug connection in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Rhea Chakraborty is from West Bengal and the state Congress Committee organized this protest. The Congress tweeted, calling Rhea the daughter of Bengal that retaliatory behavior against her would not be tolerated.
Protests by the Congress in support of Rhea are another link in the list of politics going on in this case. After Sushant's family lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was instrumental in asking the Center to hand over the case from Mumbai to the CBI.
In Maharashtra, where the BJP is in opposition, the ruling coalition government supported the investigation by the Mumbai Police and denied any allegations of negligence.
Congress tweeted, "Political conspiracy and retaliatory behavior against Bengal's daughter Rhea Chakraborty will not be tolerated".
The party tweeted, "A protest rally was taken from the Provincial Congress Office to Wellington Junction on the instructions of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, President of West Bengal Congress".

Rhea is currently in Byculla Jail in Mumbai. The court on Friday rejected Rhea's bail after hearing arguments from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
The ruling NDA in Bihar on Tuesday said that the arrest of Chakraborty by the NCB is an important step towards securing justice for the Patna-born actor whose death has caused emotional chaos with the people of the state.
The Janata Dal (United)-BJP alliance also criticized Rhea Chakraborty for filing a "baseless" FIR against Sushant's sisters and questioned the "support" given to her by the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra.
