A horrendous incident occurred in Tripura where a man allegedly murdered his wife and mother-in-law and subsequently chopped their bodies in front of his two children. After committing the alleged murder, the man consumed poison at his in-law’s residence as per the police. The children were terrified and we’re screaming in horror as the man continued his horrific crime.

The awful and unfortunate incident took place in the district of Dhalai in Tripura. The incident was reported to the police after some locals found the two women lying in a pool of blood. The locals also found the two children who were in a state of utter shock and horror and were constantly crying.

The police informed that the man is a resident of Hapania in West Tripura. It is located about 7 km from Tripura capital Agartala. The police also informed that the man was later found unconscious in another room.

Sub-divisional police officer Ashish Dasgupta said, “We have arrested the man and have conducted his medical examination. Traces of poison have been found in his body, but he is out of danger. The motive behind the attack is yet to be curtained as we have not been able to question him till now.”

The police furthermore informed that the accused is undergoing treatment at the GBP Hospital in Agartala. He will soon be produced in a local court. The children have been reportedly handed over to the Dhalai Child Welfare Officer.

The police have conducted a preliminary investigation and according to that, the accused's wife and children were living at their grandmother's place for the past four months. The couple were in the process of getting a divorce. Marital discord is suspected to be the main motive behind the murder. Nevertheless, the police will only be able to pass a concrete statement after the investigation is carried out thoroughly.

The inhumane incident has immensely angered the local residents and they have demanded that the accused should be handed over to them and that they will be the one to punish him. Hence, Tripura State Rifles Personnel have been deployed to calm the local residents.
