SRK, KKR extend support in aftermath of Amphan

In West Bengal and Odisha, cyclone Amphan has caused heavy destruction and as a result hundreds of trees were uprooted and many buildings have collapsed. 72 people have died in Bengal due to the havoc of the cyclone. Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan has come to the aid. His team Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the relief measures they'll be undertaking, on Twitter.

Under the initiative, rations and essential hygiene items will be distributed to the needy in the four most affected regions (Kolkata, North, South 24 Parganas and East Midnapore). Apart from this, he will also contribute to the West Bengal Chief Minister Relief Fund.

KKR Tweeted, "The people of #Kolkata and #WestBengal have embraced #KKR and extended their love and unconditional support over the years. This is a small effort on our part to provide some relief to those affected” - @VenkyMysore

 

Shah Rukh Khan, one of the owners of KKR, told PTI, "In these difficult times, we should stay strong until we start smiling together again." KKR is committed to contributing in this difficult time.

Earlier Shah Rukh's team Kolkata Knight Riders, entertainment company Red Chillies Entertainment and Red Chillies VFX and NGO Meer Foundation had extended their help to fight the deadly Coronavirus.

The actor had also given his personal office for Quarantine facilities.
