Mumbai's civic body BMC has alleged that Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has converted a residential building into a hotel. Sonu Sood is accused of turning a residential building into an upscale hotel in Juhu in Mumbai. The BMC has also filed a police complaint regarding the same matter.
Sonu Sood had decided to offer the same six-story building for the quarantine facilities of medical professionals at the beginning of the novel coronavirus lockdown in the previous year.
The Police received BMC's complaint concerning the matter and stated that they would investigate the case thoroughly and opt for all the necessary steps.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood actor is yet to pass any statements about the allegations made against him.
While a BJP leader did react to the allegations and claimed that the BMC and the Maharashtra Government are targeting Sonu Sood after another Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut.
BJP leader Ram Kadam claimed that Sonu Sood's generous and humanly actions during the novel coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown did not bode well with the Maharashtra Government led by Shiv Sena and hence they were targetting him.
Ram Kadam tweeted, "Another vendetta politics by Shiv Sena? This complaint against social worker and actor Sonu Sood seems politically motivated. We saw how this Maharashtra government attacked and targeted Kangana Ranaut. Shiv Sena was always against Sonu Sood's humanitarian work."
After helping uncountable migrant workers and people during the lockdown, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was hailed as a hero by a large crowd of people. The forty-seven-year actor received tons of praises from everyone and also received several awards for his humanitarian work during the pandemic. Sonu Sood also launched a toll-free helpline number for people who were in need of assistance during the coronavirus induced lockdown. He also helped a large number of migrants in returning home by hiring buses from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra.
