The show continues its fast pace and its modern whiplash editing techniques to somewhat save you from getting bored even for a minute.

“Always telling truth is for cowards. Lying takes courage. Lies are simply an investment in your future.” Be it any tech giant, it is always fascinating to know their story in-depth. How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) is based on the real-life story of an 18-year old cybercriminal who started a successful start-up of the online drug trade. Reportedly, he used to work alone in the shadows of Dark Web but in 2015, few mistakes eventually led to his arrest. Here, the whole story is given a touch of David Fincher’s classic The Social Network which is based on the life of Mark Zuckerberg. Season 2 continues to be strong at the humor and pacing quotient and even adds up a set of ingredients that makes the show more enjoyable than ever.

Starting right where it left off in Season 1, Lisa has a change of heart and Buba is dead. Moritz, Lenny, Dan are celebrating the fact that they are now millionaires. While Moritz is trying to find a work-life balance, Lenny has finally accepted to go on a date with his online discord friend, Kira. Buba is dead but her mother with her own drug gang has taken the charge of Buba’s horse farm and business. Meanwhile, Good Times network is very happy with the progress of MyDrugs and wants to expand more. The trio is thinking of quitting the business once and for all but it isn’t easy to do so.

The show continues its fast pace and its modern whiplash editing technique to save you from getting bored even for a minute. It also maintained a satisfying amount of uncertainty and thrill by inserting interesting characters inside the narrative. But, be it the first season or second, the protagonist still manages to be the ultimate troublemaker in the show. Interestingly, this season combines the friendship between the frontrunners and the constant troubles of handling a successful online drug shop in a very proportionate manner. The dialogues help the narrative to switch between the meta fourth-wall-breaking segments and the detailing of the actual story in a very effective manner.

While being highly aware of pop culture and brilliant usage of the garden variety of nerd references, the show constantly maintains the laughing quotient and even builds a unique characterization around those nerdy references. Maximilian Mundt puts up a convincing copy of Jesse Eisenberg’s Mark Zuckerberg from The Social Network, while the rest of the cast especially the new addition Lena Urzendowsky as Kira acted out brilliantly. Overall, How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) continues to use its effective narrative tools to nurture the humor, authenticity, and characterization of the show and is yet another permanent hit from Netflix Germany after Dark.

Cast: Maximilan Mundt, Danielo Kamber, Lena Klenke, Damian Hardung.

Creator: Sebastian Colley, Phillip Käßbohrer, Stefan Titze.

Streaming: Netflix

Final Verdict- Worth a watch for its consistency in providing equal levels of gags and thrill.
