Rajasthan Crisis: Congress MLAs shifted to Jaisalmer

Debanjana Dutta

Both sides are on the field. Actually three sides. Amid the conflict between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlaut and the rebel Sachin Pilot , the Congress alleges that the BJP is secretly helping Sachin . Because Narendra Modi’s Amit Shah’s party is active in forming governments in Rajasthan, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh by breaking some MLAs by taking advantage of the infighting in the Congress.

In this situation, to hold the MLAs of his own camp, shift have been done from a five-star hotel in the capital Jaipur to the hotel-fort Suryagarh in the golden fort city of Jaisalmer. In the first phase, 50 MLAs were taken to the five-star hotel near the Thor desert by three chartered planes. In the next step, the rest will be taken to various resorts, including the hotel, said Rajasthan Transport Minister Pratap Singh. Gahlaut himself has hinted to give a test of strength in the assembly on August 18.Until then, his challenge is to be able to retain the MLAs of his camp.

But atlast will it be saved? Despite being very optimistic, Gahlout is still thinking about BJP. He is not hiding his concerns about the BJP in the amount of handling Sachin Pilot’s revolt. The example of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh or even earlier Goa is not unknown to Gahlout. So the BJP has directly complained that the BJP is raising the ‘price’ to buy Congress MLAs after the governor fixes the date of the assembly session. The ruling party at the center, however, has denied the allegations. But to prove that the BJP is also using the Madhya Pradesh-Karnataka ‘model’ in Rajasthan, the Gehlaut government has now taken action on Sanjay Jain’s case. The Congress alleges that this Sanjay Jain was a BJP leader and that he had given money bait to some MLAs through disgruntled Congress MLA and Sachin camps leader Bonwarlal Sharma. The Rajasthan government has also demanded to have an audio tape in this regard. Though the BJP has denied the allegations, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police wants to present a sample of Sanjay Jain’s voice to prove the allegations in court. The SOP is going to the High Court on the matter as Sanjay Jain refused to give the sample. Even today, the SOP has failed to issue notices to MLAs Bonwar Lal and Bishwendra Singh, who were expelled from the Congress on corruption charges, at a hotel in Manesar, Haryana.
From the very beginning of the Rajasthan riots, the Congress has been alleging that they are being prevented from going to BJP-ruled Haryana to conduct investigations. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Congress chief whip Mahesh Joshi has approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s stay on the disqualification of disgruntled MLAs. He challenged the order of the High Court using the 1992 verdict as a tool.

The BJP has gone to court over the issue of six BSP MLAs joining the Congress to embarrass the Gehlaut government. Mayawati’s party has joined hands with them. The Congress is not leaving to make fun of this. They call Mayawati’s party the BJP’s ‘B’ team. Gehlaut tweeted today that four Rajya Sabha MPs from Telugu Desam joined the BJP last year. If it is fair, then where is the injustice in this case, the Congress has raised the question.
