Fresh call-ups in the French National Team
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was removed from the France International squad after testing positive for the coronavirus. To fill the vacant midfield position, Eduardo Camavinga has been called up in the team to replace Paul Pogba. The Manchester United ace has been left out of France’s squad for the upcoming Nations League.
Who Will replace Paul Pogba in the squad?
France Manager Didier Deschamps announced the squad on Thursday and confirmed that Pogba had been left out. The Manchester star recently made a comeback from injury post the COVID-induced break in the premier league for Manchester United. Paul was instrumental in helping the Red Devils finish in the top three in the league and formed a strong partnership with the golden boy Bruno Fernandes. Pogba was a sure pick in the France squad but has not been included after testing positive. He will remain in the quarantine. Paul was last seen in action for Manchester United in Europa League semi-final against Sevilla, which the Red Devils lost 2-1 to bow out of the competition. While Pogba has been left out of the national squad, Manchester United forward striker Anthony Martial has been recalled in the French National Team. Martial was in sublime form in the last season and has been rewarded for his performances.
what did the manager say about Paul
“ Paul Pogba was supposed to be on the list of players. Unfortunately for him, he got tested yesterday, which turned out to be positive this morning,” Deschamp said. Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele also wasn’t included in the French squad. However, he was placed in the 14-day quarantine after positive for coronavirus several days ago. Deschamps also selected Juventus Adrien Rabiot, a surprising choice after French Media reported in 2018 that the former PSG midfielder refused to be on the National team’s standby list for the World Cup in Russia. Everybody at United wishes Pogba a speedy recovery ahead of the new season.
