Nina Dobrev turned 32 on the 9th December 2021. The Canadian actress rose to fame through the popular TV show, The Vampire Diaries, when she played the role of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce. Born as Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva, Dobrev was born in Bulgaria after which she moved to Canada with her parents when she was 2.

Early life and career
Always interested in Arts, Nina Dobrev took acting classes at Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto and subsequently attended the arts program at Wexford Collegiate School. However, due to her pursuit of acting she was unable to complete her post-secondary studies at Ryerson University in Toronto.
The 32-year-old actress first appeared in the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation as Mia. Following this, she featured in multiple films and TV series. The list includes Fugitive Pieces, Away from Her, Never Cry Werewolf, MTV's The American Mall, and two Lifetime original movies. She also made an appearance in Wade Allain-Marcus and David Baum's 2007 music video of "You Got That Light".
She then moved ahead to take on the role of Elena Gilbert/Katherine Pierce in The Vampire Diaries in 2009. However in 2015, she announced through her Instagram that she will be leaving the show. Further, she is widely known for her roles in the erotic thriller, Chloe, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Crash Pad, XXX: Return of Xander Cage and Fam to name a few.
Nina Dobrev's activism
Apart from being a successful model-turned actor, Nina Dobrev is also a true activist. She has supported many charitable causes, including Puma's Pink Project, dedicated towards supporting and spreading awareness about Breast Cancer. Dobrev is also recognized for her long term involvement with the WE movement.
Other social and charity issues Dobrev has been involved with include communities in Schools, school supplies, Elton John AIDS Foundation and "Rape Foundation" which gives comprehensive care to rape victims and sexually abused children.

The TVD lead actress won the People's Choice Awards in 2012, 2014 and 2015 in the following categories: Favorite TV Drama Actress, Favorite TV Duo, and Favorite On-Screen Chemistry.
