Giving information about the scheme, CM Adityanath Yogi said that the migrant laborers returned to the state are being kept in home quarantine. "After the end of the quarantine period, a plan has been prepared to provide adequate number of jobs to the laborers. For this, skill mapping of these workers has been done," he said.
Approximately 35 lakh laborers have returned home in Uttar Pradesh due to the lockdown implemented across the country amid the Covid-19 outbreak. Currently there are 1.25 crore migrant laborers in 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
In the scheme, the goal is to give employment to these returned laborers, promote local business and increase employment opportunities by partnering with industries. Regarding this scheme, the government says that work is being done on a war footing to provide employment for these workers around their state and homes. A commission has also been formed to protect the interests of the workers.
The Prime Minister also spoke to villagers from six districts of the state at this inauguration program. Some such people have been associated with this program, who have started their own venture. Villages in these districts have been connected to community centers and Krishi Vigyan Kendras in this program, in which social distancing has been followed.
PM Modi while talking to these small entrepreneurs said that all the governments of the country should learn from these people. These people have turned objection into opportunity and we have to do the same. Praising these people dependent on self-employment, PM Modi said "Those who start small, do big things".
Talking about the importance of laborers, the PM said that all of us have felt the power of labor. "This power of labor became the basis of the poor welfare employment campaign launched by the Government of India. Today the same power inspired the campaign. The Yogi government has not only added several new schemes to it, has increased the number of beneficiaries but has also fully integrated it with the goal of self-reliant India," he said.
PM said, "I am confident that under the leadership of Yogi ji, the way disaster has turned into opportunity, the way they are engaged with life, other states of the country will also learn a lot from this scheme". He said that UP's figures have the ability to surprise the experts from all over the world.
