PM Modi announces ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat app innovation challenge’, Encourages techies

In view of tensions on the Indo-China border, the Indian government has not only banned 59 Chinese apps but now plans to make India self-sufficient in this matter too.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Saturday that he is going to launch the Atma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge. Modi wrote, Today there is immense enthusiasm among the technical and startup community for making Made in India apps. So @GoI_MeitY and @AIMtoInnovate are starting an innovation challenge.

Prime Minister Modi has called upon the youth and start-up companies to make indigenous mobile apps. He asked the people working in IT to participate in the Innovation Challenge of 'Code of a self-reliant India'.

Keeping a vision about the products, the Prime Minister said that there is a lot of potential in the Indian market. He said, "We all know the huge potential of our market and can achieve products of scale, if they can meet the demands of the market. Nowadays, we are seeing a huge interest and enthusiasm among start-ups and tech ecosystems to innovate, develop and promote indigenous applications".

In his tweet about this, PM Modi said, today there is a huge enthusiasm in the tech and start up community to make world class Made in India apps. In order to facilitate their ideas and products, the Ministry of Electronics and IT and the Atal Innovation Mission are launching 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' Innovation app.
