Mamata Banerjee Govt Denies Permission to Indian Air Force to Shower Petals over Frontline Workers

According to a Hindustan Times report, The Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government denied the Indian Air Force's request to shower petals over two hospitals in Kolkata, which is part of an initiative by the military to show gratitude to the medical staff.

The report said that, the Airforce had requested to shower the petals on IDBG Hospital and the Eastern Command Hospital, quoting IAF sources,

Indian Air Force is paying it's respect to all frontline workers for their contribution in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Indian Air Force helicopters have already showered flower petals over the state-run hospitals across India.

This is a nation-wide thanksgiving effort by the armed forces to honour doctors, nurses and other front-line workers battling coronavirus.
