Worrying news came in for Sourav Ganguly, Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday. It is reported that the wife and of Sourav's elder brother Snehashish Ganguly, is reported to have been infected with Coronavirus. However, this news has not been confirmed yet by his family or the cricket board.
Right now the whole world is struggling with coronavirus infection. People are being told to take preventive measures and the Government of India has also announced to unlock in the country after lockdown for almost three and a half months.
On Friday, there have been reports that some people in the family of BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly living in Behala Biren Shah Road have become Coronavirus infected. However, it has not yet been confirmed by either Sourav's family, or the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB).
Snehasish is currently the Joint Secretary of the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB). He has also played cricket for Bengal. According to information from sources, Snehashish's wife is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the metropolis.
Ganguly was appointed as the BCCI president in October 2019. Currently, the hopes of IPL 2020 has turned thin, due to the Covid-19. However, Reports say that cancelling of World T20 may make way for the cash-rich league.
Recently, Former Pakistan opener Taufeeq Umar had tested positive for Covid-19. He was followed by former all-rounder Shahid Afridi too, who is currently undergoing treatment.
The deadly virus has already affected 3,80,532 in the country whereas 12,573 have died. A total of 2,04,711 have been discharged.
