Duo performing well
Despite calling themselves 'backbenchers', Rahul and Hardik have been successful in the current tour of Australia. Hardik has scored the most runs among Indian batsmen in the three-match ODI series. Hardik's 210 runs in three matches had an average of 105 including an unbeaten innings of 92. Rahul played a big role in India's victory in the first T20 match against Australia on Thursday. He played an innings of 51 off 40 balls.
However, in the ODI series, though Hardik and Rahul played well, India lost the series 1-2. India are ahead after winning the first match of the T20 series. The second match is on Sunday and the third is on Tuesday. The four-match Test series starts on December 16. Rahul and Mayank are the only two among the 'Bank Benchers' in the Test squad as Pandya is not in the Test team.
