The Indian short video making app Chingari is becoming increasingly popular in India. This 'Made in India' app has been downloaded more than 25 lakh times. The Chingari app was downloaded by 5.50 lakh people in just 10 days of launching. The popularity was such that the app got 5 lakh downloads within 72 hours of launching. Amid the tensions at the border between India and China, the will to uninstall TikTok, the Chinese app has increased. Perhaps this is the reason for bringing the spark for Chingari to the top charts of the free app.

Videos of the Chingari app can also be viewed without logging in. However, rewards are available only to users who register and login. The Chingari app has been developed by the developers of Odisha and Karnataka in association with IT Professionals in Chhattisgarh. Sumit Ghosh, chief of the app, based in Bhilai, took nearly two years to develop the app. They believe this app has been specially designed keeping in mind the needs and likes of Indian users. Vishwastama Nayak, co-founder of the App, said that the growth of Chingari has been around 400% in the last few days.

The Chingari app provides users with the option of downloading and uploading videos, chatting with friends and sharing content. According to the company, this Chinese app is more beneficial than TikTok. Creators are not only getting popularity for good content on the app, but for the rewards in it. According to a few viral videos, users are being paid by the app. Points are given to users after posting each video, which the user can redeem in money. The app is available in Hindi, English, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store as well as the iOS App Store.
