George Russell has replaced Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes and Jack Aitken has replaced Russell at Williams for the Sakhir Grand Prix this weekend at Bahrain. The teams announced it on Wednesday morning.

Now that Hamilton has been infected with the Coronavirus, Mercedes were in a hurry to find a new driver for the second Grand Prix in Bahrain. Everyone wants to sit in the seven-time world champion's car.

However, according to Russell's deal with Williams allows the driver to part ways for one race. Mercedes have taken Russell from Williams to replace Hamilton for the race. This gives Russell a great opportunity to show himself against Valtteri Bottas and score his well-deserved points at the end.

It is notable to mention that George Russell is yet to score a point in his F1 career.

Jack Aitken made the switch from Renault to Williams last year and is now taking advantage. As a reserve rider for the British team, he fills in for Russell and has a great opportunity to prove his potential. On the other hand, Williams are also yet to score a point this season.
