Dia Mirza’s Thank You Note To Woman Priest Sheela Atta Who Conducted Her Wedding

New Delhi: Actress Dia Mirza, who is known for her association with social causes, took out the time from her post wedding schedule to give a massive shout out to the woman priest, who conducted her wedding ceremony. She is a former beauty queen, is best known for starring in films such as Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein, Sanju, Dum, Dus and My Brother... Nikhil, among others. She was last seen in the 2020 film Thappad.

Dia Mirza got married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi on February 15, since when she has been sharing glimpses of her shaadi moments on social media. One such features Sheela Atta, the priestess who conducted the wedding ceremony.

In a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, Dia Mirza packed a must-read message in her thank you note for Sheela Atta: "Thank you, Sheela Atta, for conducting our wedding ceremony. So proud that together we can rise up," Dia tweeted along with this hashtag: "#GenerationEquality.

Netizens cheered for Dia Mirza for appearing to "smash patriarchy" with comments such as "long live feminism."

Earlier, Dia Mirza turned her Instagram into a wedding album of sorts, sharing priceless glimpses of the pheras and varmala ceremonies: "Love is a full-circle that we call home. And what a miracle it is to hear its knock, open the door and be found by it. Sharing this moment of completion and joy with you... my extended family. May all puzzles find their missing pieces, may all hearts heal and may the miracle of love continue to unfold all around us," she summed up her wedding feels in these words.

Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rekhi's wedding was a close-knit affair with only a handful of family members and friends attending - actress Aditi Rao Hydari was one among them.
