Axar Patel, Akshay Kumar, and Devdutt Paddikal have tested positive for the novel covid virus on Saturday, April 3, and Sunday, April 4, respectively. On Sunday, India recorded 93,249 new daily infections. According to the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the number is the highest increase in daily cases over the past seven months, since September. The total number of known cases has now reached almost 12.5 million. As per experts, the infections in the country are increasing at a very quick rate and now India is the third worst-hit country after the United States and Brazil.
The 53-year-old actor, Akshay Kumar, tweeted on Sunday, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for Covid-19." Last year he had said that he drinks cow urine on a daily basis to stay healthy. He further tweeted that he is under home quarantine and that he is taking necessary medical care.
Axar Patel, the crucial left-arm spinner of the Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals, had tested positive for the covid virus on Saturday. The team tweeted, “Delhi Capitals all-rounder #AxarPatel has tested positive for the covid virus. He had checked into the team hotel in Mumbai on Mar 28, 2021, with a negative report. His report from the second COVID test came positive."
The opener of another IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, Devdutt Paddikal, has also tested positive for the covid virus on the same day. This could be a huge loss for the team as his form in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he scored 737 runs in 7 matches and 218 runs in 6 matches respectively, had been exceptionally amazing.
The covid virus has lately been a threat to all, especially those who are not taking precautions and are taking the rules and restrictions imposed by the government lightly.
