Karnataka SSLC Exams: Despite rape attempt, Student writes exam; Another tests positive for Covid-19

An incident of attempted rape on an SSLC student has come to light in the Kamalapur Taluk of Kalaburgi district. The student who had been studying late on the previous night of her exam.

Her mouth was force-closed and she was taken to a lonely place.

Neighbours came to the rescue when the girl yelled. The rape attempt was held on the night of June 24. Due to the lockdown, Ram Chauhan, who had returned from Mumbai, has committed a heinous act. On the night of June 24, parents complained to police. In Karnataka, the SSLC first exam was on 25th June.

She also attended the mathematics exam that took place today. Police have arrested Ram Chauhan on a complaint lodged by the girl's parents. A case has been registered at Ratakal police station.

In Karnataka, the SSLC exams were postponed to June due to the coronavirus pandemic. Today, a student tested positive for Covid-19. Officials said that a student who appeared in the SSLC examination has been found to be Covid-19 positive on Saturday.

It was told that the student was writing the exam at a center in Hassan district when the officials were informed about the situation.

The 16-year-old student was attending the examination at a center in Arkalgud town of Hassan. He was recently sent for testing after influenza-like illness developed a few days ago.

The officer said that the examination center chief was informed by the district administration as soon as the report came out positive.
