Pfizer pharmaceutical company has recently been making the headlines for the release of their COVID-19 vaccine. Contrary to the possibly fortunate news, a former Vice President of the drug-making company ascertained that there is no need for a COVID-19 vaccine to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
An article was published in Lockdown Sceptics where the former Vice President Dr Michael Yeadon said, "There is absolutely no need for vaccines to extinguish the pandemic. I have never heard such nonsense talked about vaccines. You do not vaccinate people who aren't at a risk from a disease. You also don't set about planning to vaccinate millions of fit and healthy people with a vaccine that hasn't even been extensively tested on human subjects."
Dr. Michael Yeadon's comments come while comprehensively criticizing the Scientific Advisor Group for Emergencies (SAGE). SAGE is a government agency of the United Kingdom and is tasked with advising the central government in situations and instances of emergencies. In response to the ongoing pandemic, SAGE has played a significant role in determining the public lockdown policies in the UK.
Michael Yeadon has criticized SAGE's presumptions and has pointed out their rudimentary mistakes which, in turn, has caused their final conclusions to go wholly wrong leading to the 'torturing of the UK's populations for a long period o seven months."
Dr. Michael Yeadon said, "SAGE says that everyone was susceptible and only 7% of them have been infected. I think this is literally unbelievable. They have ignored all precedent in the field of immunological memory against respiratory viruses. They have either not seen or disregarded excellent quality work from numerous world-leading clinical immunologists which show that around 30% of the population had prior immunity."
Pfizer has recently announced its COVID-19 vaccine's efficacy results. The vaccine has proved to be 95% effectively efficient.
