BJP demands strict actions against actress Shruti Hasan for violating the rules. On Tuesday, elections were held for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Hasan cast his vote in Chennai and after that, he visited the polling booths in Coimbatore south assembly. Kamal Hasan is contesting from this seat and as a candidate, he went to the polling booth to watch the general election scenario. During this visit, his daughter actress Shruti Hasan and Akshara Hasan was also present with him. For that incident, Bharatiya Janata Party has filed a complaint against Shruti Hasan accusing her of visiting the polling booth with Kamal Hasan which violated the election rules.
A letter was written on behalf of BJP National Women's Wing leader Vanathi Srinivasan by the BJP District President Nanda Kumar of Coimbatore to the District Election Officer stating that the actress broke the rules by visiting the polling booth and he demanded criminal action against actress Shruti Hasan for visiting the polling stations.
The BJP has said in its complaint that there is a rule that no one is allowed to go to polling stations except booth agents and the presence of the actress condemns the law hence keeping this matter in view a strict action should be imposed against her.
According to the information, Kamal Hasan has also raised a complaint against Bhartiya Janta Party, in which he has said that the BJP party has promised to distribute money to voters after winning the elections in Tamil Nadu.
With several other superstars of South Cinema, Shruti Hasan and Akshara were noticed casting the votes and Shruti Hasan also noticed interacting with voters.
Voting in the Tamil Nadu Assembly ended on Tuesday and with a 71.79 overall voting percentage in the state as per the data given by the Election commission of India.
