Mumbai: Today, Ajaz Khan who is an actor and contestant of Bigg Boss 7 was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) a day after the interrogation for 8 hours over drugs found at his Mumbai home. Yesterday he was taken into custody from the Mumbai airport after his arrival from Rajasthan. The agency mentioned that they alprazolam tablets from his home during searches in the Andheri and Lokhandwala areas.
NCB mentioned that, Ajaz Khan is part of narcotics peddler Shadab Farooque Shaikh alias. Last Thursday Shaikh was arrested and more than 2 kilograms of the banned mephedrone drug was recovered from him.
Mr Batata revealed that, Ajaz who was interrogated in the NCB's Mumbai office. While talking to reporters outside the office, Ajaz said that he was not interrogated but had gone to meet the officers voluntarily.
Today Ajaz said “Neither was anything found from my home nor from the airport,” to the reporters while being taken away by officials. When he was asked repeatedly about the drugs found at his residence, he said, “Nothing. Ask them where they got it…what they got was four sleeping pills. My wife had miscarried and was in depression. She was taking those pills.
The NCB began investing the drug cases after the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death last year. These searches, interrogations, and arrests being made in this connection.
A number of industry A-listers, including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan have been questioned by the NCB during this phase.
The NCB has also arrested a number of foreign nationals in recent days for holding illegal drugs. On Monday it intercepted a Nigerian national and recovered 200 grams of Mephedrone from the Navi Mumbai area. On the same day, in Chennai, it took custody of six Sri Lankan nationals on a boat in Indian waters with 300 kilograms of heroin and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, according to the sources.
