Birth anniversary of Vajpayee

Today is the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of the country. Born on December 25, 1924 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vajpayee breathed his last on August 16, 2018 while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

FASTag mandatory for all vehicles

FASTag will be compulsory for vehicles from the new year i.e. January 1, 2021. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari gave this information on Thursday.

Farewell of 8 dogs from Delhi Metro

After serving for 10 years in CISF's Delhi Metro unit, 8 dogs of the force were given farewell on Thursday. Senior officers of the force termed these dogs as "brave soldiers" who performed their duties with utmost vigor to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Nation's first automated train

On 28 December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the country's first fully-automated speedless train service on the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro. This will be India's first driverless train.

Karnataka government withdraws decision to impose night curfew

The Karnataka government has withdrawn the decision to impose night curfew in the state after a day. From December 24 to January 1, it was decided to impose curfew from 11 pm to 5 am in the morning.
